A Note From Sue Did you ever see a resplendent quetzal? This dazzling bird lives in the First Children's Rainforest in Monteverde, Costa Rica. The forest is also known as the Children's Eternal Rainforest, or Bosque Eterno de los Niños or, the BEN. When I saw a quetzal I was with this nice fellow Jim Crisp, who had been in Monteverde in 1988 at the forest's beginning. He told me the amazing story of how the forest came to be.
