THE FOREST WILD

KIDS' ART
WANTED!

(NO this is not a contest--it's for fun)

(SEE FAQ #1)

To Kids, Teachers, Families and Friends:

Thanks to the ongoing dedication of so many, The Children's Eternal Rainforest (El Bosque Eterno de los Niņos, BEN) and its inhabitants are still wild and safe after 20 years. We hope reading about the forest, and the amazing story of how it was saved, will remind you that ALL of us are interconnected. The future of rainforests, and our planet, depends on everyone.

NOW, MORE FOREST IS BEING PURCHASED FOR THE BEN
YOU CAN HELP SAVE RAINFOREST

when you join the
KIDS' BOOK PROJECT:

How Children Saved a Rainforest

save more forest for the BEN.
We will publish your illustrations on the site, primarily

How does making pictures help
the rainforest?

When you make pictures of the rainforest and its wild creatures, you
are getting to know them in your mind, heart, imagination and dreams. This is a wonderful way to help, because when you imagine something,
it becomes close to your heart, and, in a sense, becomes a part of you. When we all understand that we are not separate from each other or nature, we will
take better care of our home the Earth.

After illustrating the story, if your class wishes to help with a donation,

a contribution in any amount
will save more forest trees
and wildlife to expand
the BEN, and help protect
its borders "eternally".
Land Purchase Information

THE PROJECT:

FIRST READ THE STORY HERE.

• THEN, DOWNLOAD THE STORY (text only). Your teacher can do this, and you can start imagining your own illustrations.

LEARN ABOUT RAINFORESTS---why they are so important for our future. Check our contacts and credits pages for some great educational resources. ALSO check out our new Rainforest Fun Facts pages, and send us YOUR Fun Facts.

•Have fun making YOUR PICTURES. (BEN founding Director Jim enjoys drawing his animals, and doesn't mind it if no one recognizes them).

*We invite your teacher to send us your pictures. We will post them here in your own school "gallery" to honor your art. (see SCHOOLS/ART page).
Some art will also be posted in the story on a revolving basis as the webmaster's time allows.

Suggestions for Kids:

Use empty spaces on the story pages for your art.

•Use the back of the pages. Save trees (paper) and make MORE ART.

•You can cut and paste the text in different ways, print the text in your own handwriting, etc. Go wild!

Remember to invite the BEN and all its wild creatures into your dreams.

 Suggestions for Teachers (click)

OUR dream is to include some kids' art in a final beautiful published book, one that will find its way into homes and libraries around the world.

DREAM THE FOREST WILD: How

THANK YOU FOR DREAMING THE FOREST WILD

If your class or group wants to help purchase forest for the BEN, there are many ways to have fun doing this --including making lots of copies of your book and having a book sale. Another possibility is to have a class play of Dream The Forest Wild. A bake sale with rainforest ingredients? (vanilla, chocolate, ginger). As with your pictures, let your imagination run... wild.
