DREAM THE FOREST WILD
How Children Saved a Rainforest

.....By Sue Memhard with Jim Crisp, forest founding Director

is the remarkable and true story of a beautiful rainforest and its wildlife, and of children in over 40 countries who save a forest they have never seen -- in a Dream that's dreamed around the world.

To honor the children, the forest is named

El Bosque Eterno de los Niņos

(affectionately called the BEN)

WELCOME from authors Sue and Jim

October 2011
Did you know that the R
esplendent Quetzal lives in the Costa Rican Rainforest?

Half of the year, this dazzling bird lives in the Children's Eternal Rainforest, in the swirling cloud mist of
Monteverde, Costa Rica. The forest is also known as Bosque Eterno de los Niņos –or, the BEN. (The other half of the year, the quetzal migrates to the lower dry forest).

When Sue saw a quetzal she was with this fellow Jim Crisp, who had been the forest's founding Director. He told her the amazing story of how the forest came to be saved.

Sue wanted to tell everyone! So together they wrote this book. It's here on this site to celebrate the BEN and the next generations inheriting our world (YOU).

But---the story needs KIDS' ART. And so we hope you'll join the KIDS' BOOK PROJECT to illustrate the story. By joining the project, you'll meet some of the BEN's wiild inhabitants, have creative fun, and at the same time know that you are keeping alive the dream of a forest saved by, and for, the children of the world.

We invite you to Dream The Forest Wild. Fall in love forever with the beautiful and precious rainforest --the rainforest that belongs to you.
