some more jaguar information
The Jaguar is the largest cat living in all of the Americas.
Jaguars are reclusive and live primarily in solitude. They are nocturnal, with high activity at dawn and dusk. Unlike other cats, these big cats are skillful swimmers, which comes in handy in the rainforest for cooling down or catching a meal in the river!
Jaguars are revered in many indigenous American cultures. The Maya believed that the Jaguar, God of the Underworld, helped the sun travel under the earth at night, ensuring its new rising every morning.*
