The Boa Constrictor is quite an interesting snake. As you can see, its camoflage is so effective that it's even hard to find its head as it sleeps wrapped around the branch (and itself). Non-venomous and nocturnal, the boa grabs its prey with its teeth and then, yes -- constricts it. Its favorite food seems to be bats. Boas also like rodents of all kinds, and people in the rainforest sometimes keep them in their houses to keep rats away.

A large boa is about 10 feet in length, and they have been known to be up to 14 feet long!
